SMP Contract, KEP Recharge Alliance Water Replenishment Scheme

We are continuing our transformation to an EPCM contractor for Public Infrastructure, Mining and Oil and Gas sectors, with the recent award of  the Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) contract with the KEP Recharge Alliance, a JV between Thiess and CH2M Hill Australia for the construction of a water recycling plant at Beenyup in Craigie.

This ground breaking environmental focused project is part of the State Government’s groundwater replenishment scheme, the plant is anticipated to recycle and treat 14 billion litres of water per year before pumping it back into existing groundwater supplies, specifically into the Yarragdee Aquifer.

The plant includes expansion capacity for processing of up to 28 billion litres per year and is the first wastewater recycling project of its type in Australia. The Advanced Wastewater Recycling Plant is a major step in progressing the Water Corporation’s strategy for climate resiliency.
